New features in OASYS 3.6
OASYS 3.6 is a major update that makes assessment authoring, delivery, monitoring, and administration more efficient and secure:
- New dashboards and live monitoring: Redesigned dashboards for users and administrators provide quick access to important information, watchlists, recent work, and integrated activity monitoring.
- Test Journeys: The Results Manager and Activity Tracker now provide a clearer view of each participant’s path through a test, including page-level activity and timing.
- Safer publishing workflow: The new Draft and Published (Locked) states protect live assessments and existing results from accidental changes.
- More powerful test editing: Bulk editing, improved previews, and new editors for landing pages, finish screens, and score screens make tests easier to configure. Conditional score ranges support more flexible feedback.
- Reusable and portable content: Page groups can be imported and exported together with their media, while pages and test screens can be copied between tests and page groups.
- Faster content management: Advanced searches include IDs and extended meta-tag criteria, the Media Manager supports bulk uploads, and existing pages can be loaded from other page groups.
- Improved results and scoring workflows: Manual scoring has been streamlined, reports and statistics respect user permissions, and result data can be reset for a selected date range.
- Expanded login and administration tools: OASYS 3.6 adds SAML support, CSV user import, system-settings import and export, improved session handling, and secure encryption-key rotation.
- Stronger permissions and security: Expanded authorization checks, improved access control, safer exports, and numerous security and performance improvements strengthen day-to-day operation.
- Modern platform support: Updated PHP and MariaDB compatibility, improved system checks, localization warnings, custom page CSS, and many interface refinements simplify maintenance and authoring.
Coming in OASYS 3.7
OASYS 3.7 will introduce further improvements for authors, test administrators, and system managers:
- Routed tests: Create conditional branches and adaptive test paths through an easy-to-use visual interface, directing participants to different sections according to their results.
- Faster access to everyday work: Searchable Watchlists inside the Content, Test, and Test Taker Managers, remembered file-manager positions, and a configurable start page will reduce repetitive navigation.
- Better content overview: Page usage information will show where test pages are used and provide direct links between related content, tests, and test takers.
- Safer administration: Improved validated imports, clearer permission and access-request workflows, and expanded backup, user-management, localization, and results tools will simplify administration.
These are only some of the improvements planned for OASYS 3.7, with many more refinements included throughout the platform.
